THE ARTS SOCIETY SOUTH DEVON

A Children's Trail is a questionnaire designed by members of The Arts Society for children aged 8 -12 but is really for people of all ages! The trail guides the participant round places of worship looking at the architecture, history and furnishings. A corresponding answer sheet is provided for accompanying adults. The aim is to encourage children to explore the building, to learn about it and enjoy the experience so that they are inspired to visit other churches.

On the 3rd March we launched our latest trail at St Leonard Church, Sheepstor with children from the neaby  primary school. The church is famous for its association with the Brooke family and the Rajahs of Sarawak and this was featured in the trail. The children were excited by their discoveries in the church and asked many questions of their teachers and members of The Arts Society South Devon and the church.

This is the eighth trail completed by our Society
